2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Microsoft Word 2010 is regarded as a powerful word processing tool, but did you know it also has powerful photo and text-editing tools that often negate the need for more advanced software? This class will introduce staff members to often overlooked photo and text-editing options within Word by exploring the following topics:

  • Adjust Image Appearance
  • WordArt and other Text Effects
  • Integrate Pictures and Text
  • Insert and Format Screenshots

This class is best suited for staff who have used Word before and are familiar with the software.

(Please note that Microsoft Word 2010 is only available on PC; the Mac version is 2011 and will not be covered in this class, though the concepts covered can be translated to the Mac version.)

If you are interested in learning more about Word but you are unable to attend  the class, Atomic Learning, an online database of technology tutorials, has a robust catalog of Word offerings and a specific section for working with Graphics and Text in Word: (Atomic Learning MS Word Offerings)

*The image editing content covered in this class may be similar in scope to concepts being taught in a future class dedicated to photo editing in Windows Photo Gallery and Microsoft Word.

This class is being offered by Local Learning Support, a program that provides learning support by working alongside staff in participating departments with the goal of creating a community of technologically self-sufficient and adaptable staff. The Local Learning Support team is working with specific departments this semester, but all staff members are welcome to attend any staff education course being offered, regardless of whether or not their department is currently working with a Local Learning Support Specialist.
