Reminder: Fall 2015 Reserves

Posted August 12th, 2015 at 10:55 am.

A reminder for all faculty as the fall 2015 semester approaches:

To place a book or video on reserve in Canaday Library, please fill out the book reserve and/or video reserve webform(s).

Carpenter and Collier use one form each for both their book and video reserves. To place any item on reserve in Carpenter and Collier Libraries, please fill out the following forms:

You can only place items on reserve for a course in one library.

IMPORTANT: For e-book titles to be used in your courses, please ask that the e-book and/or a print version be purchased for reserve. We “rent” and do not “own” most of the e-book titles in Tripod, and unless you request a specific title be purchased, the publisher may remove its availability in a “rent-able” e-version from our vendor. Simply linking to the Tripod record for an e-book in your Moodle course will not guarantee its continued availability, unless we specifically purchase it. Please include requests for e-books in your reserves requests.

Please make sure to indicate whether or not the Library already owns each item and if so, what the call number is. If the Library does not own a copy of the item that you need, one will be purchased and put on reserve as quickly as possible.

All reserve requests are processed in the order in which they are received. All items will be kept on reserve until the end of the semester, unless otherwise requested. You must submit a request by Friday, August 21st in order for the item to be guaranteed to be available on the first day of classes – please note that if the Library needs to purchase a book, it may take longer.

To place a personal copy item on reserve in Canaday Library, please come to the Circulation Desk, fill out the request form, and leave it at the desk with your item. Please write your name in all of your personal copy books. Library staff will add the materials to Tripod and place them on reserve for you within 2 business days, Monday through Friday.
