Get your PowerPoint skills in gear by attending the first ever PowerPoint Boot Camp on Wednesday, April 6th from 4-6pm in Canaday 315. Featuring 6 hands-on sessions, each 15-20 minute session will focus on a targeted skill that you’ll be able to implement into your next presentation. No bossy drill sergeants here; friendly and knowledgeable staff from LITS, the Provost’s Office, and Institutional Research will serve as your instructors. Attendees can participate in as few or as many sessions as they’d like. Seating is limited, so read the session descriptions and sign up below! The Boot Camp is open to all BMC Staff, Faculty, and graduate students.

Schedule:

Session 1 –  4:00-4:15
Title: Presenter Tools
Description: Learn how to best use presenter notes and tools to deliver a seamless PowerPoint presentation.

Session 2 – 4:15-4:30
Title: Pictures into Shapes
Description: Learn how to leverage cropping tools to personalize shapes and photos.

5 minute break

Session 3 – 4:35-4:55
Title: Waterfall Graphs – Visually displaying the breakdown of a whole
Description: Need your shapes and text boxes to line up, but can’t ever get them quite in the right place? Come learn about a couple of shortcuts built just for you.

Session 4 – 4:55-5:15
Title: Text Boxes Plus
Description: Learn how to beautify your slides in a simple and easy way.

5-minute break

Session 5 – 5:20-5:40
Title: Hyperlinking
Description: Attendees will learn how to use hyperlinks in their PowerPoint to quickly navigate to a website or a different location in their presentation.

Session 6 – 5:40-6:00
Title: Arranging Text and Shapes
Description: Need your shapes and text boxes to line up, but can’t ever get them quite in the right place? Come learn about a couple of shortcuts built just for you.
