The Focused Inbox, or, “What Happened to Clutter?”

Posted October 31st, 2016 at 8:00 am.

Throughout the fall, Microsoft will be replacing Clutter with Focused Inbox. This optional feature improves upon Clutter by separating your inbox into two tabs—Focused and Other. Emails that matter most to you are in the Focused tab, while the rest remain easily accessible in the Other tab.

You’ll receive a prompt to try the Focused Inbox when your mailbox is ready. Already disabled Clutter? You may prefer Focused Inbox, but it’s your choice whether or not to turn it on. Love Clutter? Opt in and Clutter’s learned algorithm will transfer to your Focused Inbox!

Remember: Office 365 is an “evergreen” service. It will continue to change and improve, and we’ll do our best to keep you informed. See the Office Blog and this help article for more on Focused Inbox, and check out this Guide to inbox management.

In this Spotlight Series, we highlight some of the most valuable and easily missed features of Office 365. Don’t hesitate to contact us at help@brynmawr.edu or 610-526-7440. Visit us on the first floor of Canaday or online at techdocs.blogs.brynmawr.edu.
