Celebrate Data Privacy Day!

Posted January 27th, 2017 at 10:36 am.

January 28th is Data Privacy Day, an international effort to raise awareness of and promote privacy and data protection concerns and best practices.

Here’s how you can help yourself and the College community become better prepared to face data privacy challenges today and beyond:

  • Participate in the College’s first File Clean-Up Day! On February 1st, all community members will be highly encouraged to devote time to cleaning up specific storage locations with the goal of streamlining/speeding up your work and working towards more efficient and secure file management. Pledge to participate and read more here
  • Check LITS social media for data privacy/security-related content throughout the month and beyond!
  • A chief component of data privacy is learning how to protect sensitive data. If you haven’t yet done so, learn how to keep your data secure by completing the College’s Information Security Education Program
  • View films with data privacy themes (all available through Tripod!)
