Data Privacy Day 2018: Think Like a Hacker

Happy Data Privacy Day (DPD)!

DPD is an annual international event to create awareness of the importance of privacy and protecting personal information.

Today is the perfect day to begin thinking like a hacker.

Wait – why would you want to do that?

Many people associate hacking with criminal activity, thanks to countless movies and other media that depict and reinforce these stereotypes.

This Data Privacy Day, think about how a hacker’s mindset can help you be more proactive about protecting your data. Identifying and correcting risks and vulnerabilities in how you handle data can mean the difference between keeping data secure, or having your data exposed. Think about ways you can “patch” your digital and non-digital life; employ these practices, and share them with your friends, colleagues, and families.
