The College’s new phone system will launch on Monday, June 11. This message contains important information about actions required on your part, and additional information about what to expect on Day 1.

What to Expect on Day 1

Hands-on Help

Watch for our Launch Day Support Team! LITS staff members will be visiting offices throughout the day on Monday, June 11 to help you orient to your new phone.

–> Activation Emails

During the weekend (June 9-10), the new phone system will send you four emails. Pay close attention to these, as they will allow you to activate your phone, set up your voicemail, and give you instructions for installing optional desktop and mobile apps. Use this Day 1 Guide to get started.

  • Email #1: Welcome to your new MiCollab settings 

This message is from voicemail@brynmawr.edu and will provide instructions for logging into your new phone. You will only need to do this once to activate your desk phone. It will also instruct you on setting up voicemail, and introduce owlphone.brynmawr.edu for checking your voicemail on the web.

  • Emails #2, #3, and #4: Software Options for Bryn Mawr Phone System

This message is from noreply@mitel.easydeploy.net and contains optional apps for use with the Bryn Mawr College phone system. You will receive three similar messages. Use a message that includes your extension with a * in the middle (ex. 74*40). Disregard the others.

The MiCollab Client is available for your computer (Windows and macOS) and mobile device (iOS, Android, Windows Phone). The app also allows you to enable a Softphone, which you can use to make or receive calls with your Bryn Mawr College phone number from your computer or mobile device.

If you have multiple devices, then you will need to perform these steps for each of your devices.

Setting Up Call Coverage

Use your “Status” in the Bryn Mawr College phone system to determine what happens to your phone calls when you’re on the phone, out of the office, etc.

Set your Status using MiCollab desktop, mobile, or web app. For more information, see Customizing Your Call Flow (Forwarding, Automated Call Routing).

Missing buttons/features?

We have done our best to map current office configurations to the new phone system. If you find that a button, feature, or call appearance is missing, contact the Help Desk. We will all fine-tune as we learn more about what the new system has to offer.
