New Phone System: Tips & Tricks

Posted June 13th, 2018 at 4:05 pm.

The new Bryn Mawr College phone system launched successfully on Monday, June 11. LITS staff have been busy visiting offices, fine-tuning phone programming, and fielding questions about the new system’s features.  We’re grateful for your curiosity and patience as we all adjust to this major change.

A few quick notes and reminders:

  • Tech Docs has a variety of how-to information on the phone, voicemail, and optional apps
  • If you’re just returning from vacation and haven’t activated your phone yet, use our Day 1 Guide to get started
  • The new system sounds different from the old one. Give yourself a week or two to adjust, but if you’re experiencing noise and interference, do let us know.
  • Dial “8” to call an off-campus fax or phone number!
  • Need your phone moved? Let us know.
  • Do you travel frequently? Are you always out and about on campus? We’re running two Tools for Travelers classes in July to help you get the most out of the new system’s mobility features
  • Away for the summer? Set up your voicemail now, and activate your phone when you’re back in the fall. The system-generated emails you received June 9-10 will give you step-by-step instructions.
  • Need help? Contact us at help@brynmawr.edu or 610-526-7440.

Over the summer and into the fall we’ll be sharing tips and tricks as we continue to learn about the system’s new features. Over the next several weeks, we’ll continue working with community members to optimize their departmental and individual settings.  Don’t hesitate to reach out!
