At 9:20 a.m. today we had a 20-30 second power disruption in the Canaday server room. Specifically, the UPS (power supply) hit the current limit on 2 of the 3 input legs and transferred to emergency bypass to protect itself. The event then cleared and the UPS restored to normal service automatically. During the event the equipment powered by they UPS either lost all power and rebooted or suffered a power sag and became unresponsive.

The majority of the systems rebooted recovered on their own. A few; some network switches, parts of the wireless network, the new back systems, TripodClassic; required manual intervention. All services were restored to normal operations by 11:00 a.m.

Facilities and our electrical contractors jointly investigated the issue, but were unable to locate any damage or any likely source of the event.

LITS will continue to monitor the situation.
