Update: College Macs & JAMF Connect

LITS is continuing to work with JAMF, the vendor for our Mac management service, regarding the recent update to JAMF Connect.

We hope to have an update posted early next week with actionable steps – which may include technicians interacting with affected devices in-person. In the meantime, please avoid restarting your computer and ensure all locally-stored data (e.g., Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos) is backed up.

College Macs: JAMF Connect

A recent change in the College’s Mac management service, JAMF, has caused a pop-up window to appear on some College Mac computers.

If this occurs on your device, please enter your College email address and password and click Sign In.

Happy holidays everyone! Prior to leaving for winter break, please be sure to update your Windows computers. Microsoft has recently released a security update that patches 71 known flaws and 1 Zero-Day Vulnerability.

Help keep the College protected by updating your device(s)!

      1. Click the Windows Search bar
      2. Type in and click on “Check for updates
      3. In the top-right, click Check for updatesInstall updatesRestart now
      4. Repeat Steps 1-3 until all available updates are installed

CrowdStrike Falcon Update: College Windows computers

An update for CrowdStrike Falcon — the College’s Anti-Virus solution — will be deployed to all College Windows computers today (3/19) at 12:00pm EST. No action is necessary. Details about this update are included below.

What will change?

An icon for CrowdStrike Falcon will now be visible in the System Tray, available by clicking the caret (^) in the bottom-right corner of your display. The icon will appear as one of the following:

Clicking the icon will show you the following screen, which includes details about the CrowdStrike software on your computer!
