VPN Unavailable: Thursday (12/19) 6am – 9am

On Thursday (12/19), LITS will be performing an urgent upgrade to our VPN service. During this time, community members will not be able to access their College network drives (H:, S:, Q:, etc.) or other campus-only resources from off-campus. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes!

Moodle updates during winter break

LITS will be applying a minor upgrade to Moodle over winter break. This process will begin during the early morning on Monday, January 13, 2025. We do not anticipate any downtime.

Once the upgrade is complete, you may notice small changes in the Moodle interface. These include a redesign of the menu used to select activities and resources (Assignment, Forum, Quiz, etc.) as well as a new drop-down menu instructors can use to control “Group Mode” settings. There will also be small functional changes, the most important of which is a way to directly add new items and categories to your Gradebook. Finally, we will be adding the plugin Moodleoverflow to our site. It allows you to add a Moodleoverflow activity to your course page, which can be used for Q&A-style discussions.

Routine system maintenance generally occurs on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. – midnight.

LITS coordinates with divisions across the College to confirm our system maintenance schedule annually. Not all systems will necessarily be unavailable during these maintenance windows; however, you should assume that they will be and plan critical work around the system maintenance schedule. LITS implemented this practice in June 2015 to reduce overall system downtime, to improve the security and reliability of College systems and networks, and to maintain compliance with industry and vendor support requirements and best practices.

The PeopleSoft patch testing schedule is determined by our vendor and does not follow the system maintenance schedule.

Action Required: Update Windows Devices

Happy holidays everyone! Prior to leaving for winter break, please be sure to update your Windows computers. Microsoft has recently released a security update that patches 71 known flaws and 1 Zero-Day Vulnerability.

Help keep the College protected by updating your device(s)!

      1. Click the Windows Search bar
      2. Type in and click on “Check for updates
      3. In the top-right, click Check for updatesInstall updatesRestart now
      4. Repeat Steps 1-3 until all available updates are installed

Fix to Zoom Scheduler

LITS has been made aware of an issue with Zoom Scheduler that is preventing users from being able to reschedule meetings. This issue, which produces a broken link whenever users try to reschedule a meeting, occurs over email and in calendar notifications.

LITS has worked with Zoom to identify a solution and will implement the fix over Winter Break. Once it’s applied, users will no longer encounter a broken link when rescheduling meetings. However, they will still encounter broken links if they try to reschedule meetings that were created before the fix is applied.

RESOLVED: Some Campus Services Unavailable

Update, 10:15pm: Folks should once again be able to login to all campus services. Please contact the Help Desk if you are continuing to experience any issues.


Starting this evening, community members report being unable to login to some Bryn Mawr services, including EZBorrow, eMarket, Interfolio, Domain of One’s Own, and Parchment. LITS is working to diagnose and resolve these issues as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
