Warning: New Phishing Attempts, 4/8

Another day, another new set of phishing messages. One warns community members that, unless quick action is taken, their account will be deleted. The other offers a fake job opportunity. Both of these messages use some Bryn Mawr branding and ask the recipients to click on a link and fill out a form. Both of these are scams.

Do not respond to the email, click on any links, or fill out any forms.

Please feel free to delete these messages. If you clicked on these links or if you’ve filled out either of these forms and have given your information to the phisher, immediately change your password and contact the Help Desk: help@brynmawr.edu, 610-526-7440.

Email scams come in many forms. While we work to keep you informed, attacks are increasingly diverse and sophisticated. It’s not possible for us to warn you of every message before you see it. Be cautious and suspicious. If you ever have a question or suspicion, don’t hesitate to contact the Help Desk.

Reminder: How to Fix Broken Webmail Bookmarks

After the authentication changes for Office 365, Webmail users may have noticed that their email bookmarks are no longer working properly. On personal computers or non-public College computers, community members can choose to update their bookmarks or navigate to Webmail directly by typing “webmail.brynmawr.edu” into your address bar.

If you are using a public computer, like those in each of the libraries, you will need to navigate directly to webmail. The links in the web browsers will be updated when the labs are refreshed this summer.

Haverford Students Unable to Use Remote Software

Recently, Haverford students have reported issues when trying to connect to Apporto or LabStats, the software used to access Bryn Mawr licensed software from off-campus. We are actively working with the vendors to diagnose and resolve the issue, but don’t have an ETA as to when access will be restored.

While we are working on this issue, Haverford students will need to visit any of the public labs on Bryn Mawr’s campus in order to access the software they might need for classes. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes and thank you for your patience.
