New Zoom Features Coming Soon

We are delighted to announce that new features will begin rolling out to Bryn Mawr Zoom accounts in the coming weeks:

  • Everyone will get access to Zoom Scheduler, an appointment-booking app for in-person and Zoom meetings, including team appointment bookings like next available round robins.
    • Individuals and departments who subscribe to platforms like Calendly or Book with Me may want to migrate to Zoom Scheduler but can wait until it is convenient to do so.
    • LITS will provide detailed migration information and support starting in May.
  • Faculty and staff will be able to host Zoom Webinars with up to 500 participants in addition to Meetings with up to 300 participants.
  • Note you will need to log into the Zoom web portal to access these features. (The Zoom desktop and mobile apps have more limited features and the integrations with Moodle and Outlook are designed for Zoom Meetings only.)

There will be no downtime and no change in how Zoom Meetings work.

RESOLVED: Emergency VPN Maintenance, TODAY at 9am – 12pm

Update, 10:48am: The patch has been applied and the VPN is back up and running. Please contact the Help Desk with any oddities or lingering issues.


A new security patch has been released for the VPN and LITS needs to install it as soon as possible to help ensure the security of our network. The VPN will be unavailable starting at about 9am. We will get everything back up as soon as we are able.

RESOLVED: Intermittent Phone Issues in Old Library (including Carpenter Library)

RESOLVED: Wireless Network in Old Library (including Carpenter Library) Unavailable

Reminder: How to Fix Broken Webmail Bookmarks

After the authentication changes for Office 365, Webmail users may have noticed that their email bookmarks are no longer working properly. On personal computers or non-public College computers, community members can choose to update their bookmarks or navigate to Webmail directly by typing “webmail.brynmawr.edu” into your address bar.

If you are using a public computer, like those in each of the libraries, you will need to navigate directly to webmail. The links in the web browsers will be updated when the labs are refreshed this summer.

CrowdStrike Falcon Update: College Windows computers

An update for CrowdStrike Falcon — the College’s Anti-Virus solution — will be deployed to all College Windows computers today (3/19) at 12:00pm EST. No action is necessary. Details about this update are included below.

What will change?

An icon for CrowdStrike Falcon will now be visible in the System Tray, available by clicking the caret (^) in the bottom-right corner of your display. The icon will appear as one of the following:

Clicking the icon will show you the following screen, which includes details about the CrowdStrike software on your computer!

Display Name Inconsitencies and Self-Service Password Resets Unavailable

LITS is working on a couple of open issues following the change to our new account management system, Rapid Identity.

Two issues you may notice are:

      • Self-Service password resets are unavailable. Please contact the Help Desk if you need to have your password reset.
      • The way that names display in College services may be incorrect or inconsistent.

RESOLVED: Campus Internet Connection Unavailable

Update, 10:40pm: All internet access has been restored. Please report any lingering issues or oddities to the Help Desk.


Connectivity to the internet is currently unavailable on campus. This outage was caused by a power failure at the Philadelphia facility of our service provider.

Currently we have no estimate of when service will be restored but we will share updates as we learn more.

The VPN is unavailable. Other services are only available intermittently.
