Panopto: Scheduled Downtime

On Saturday, June 25th 2022, the Panopto Cloud will be updated with the latest features and improvements. These updates will require downtime. We expect up to 3 hours of downtime, with a target start time of 9:00pm EDT.During the downtime, you will not be able to access videos on your Panopto site and any attempts to upload from recording clients will result in a “Server unable to connect” message.For any questions, please contact Panopto Support online at support.panopto.com or email support@panopto.com.

RESOLVED: Helfarian Internet Outage: June 6, 2022

Update, 8:13pm: Internet service in Helfarian has been restored. Thank you for your patience. Please report any issues to the Help Desk.


This evening, a piece of equipment failed and Helfarian is currently without internet access. LITS is working to find a replacement for the equipment and restore service as soon as possible. We apologize any inconvenience.

Emergency Maintenance on Moodle – Tuesday, Mar 22

LITS will be performing emergency maintenance on Moodle at 8 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. The upgrade will address security vulnerabilities. The upgrade should last less than 10 minutes, and people who are already logged in should experience minimal disruption during that time.

RESOLVED: Intermittent Issues with On-Campus Phone Calls

Update, 3/1: Our vendor reports that all issues should now be resolved and that phone connections should be back to normal. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Help Desk with any further issues or questions.


Some community members have reported having trouble while making and receiving calls to their College phones. While all calls appear to be going through, some people report experiencing clicking noises or choppy or garbled phone connections. LITS is actively working with our telephone vendors on the issue, but there is currently no ETA for a fix. Thank you for your patience while we work through this issue.

Reminder: Routine System Maintenance Thursday 6pm – midnight

Routine system maintenance will occur tomorrow (Thursday) from 6:00 p.m. until midnight.

Some community members’ Microsoft 365 accounts now default to “add online meeting to all meetings”. During this week’s maintenance, we will be turning this setting OFF for all accounts. If you would like to turn it back on for your own account, you can do so by going to:

  • Calendar > Events and invitations > Add online meeting to all meetings

RESOLVED: RStudio server problem

Around 8:30 this morning, rstudio4.brynmawr.edu experienced difficulties and needed all user sessions/jobs to be terminated. Things are back up and running, but please log back in as soon as possible and check the status of your work.
