RESOLVED: GSSW Network and Phone Service Unavailable (9/6)

Update, 11:45am: The issues with internet and phone service have been resolved and everything should be working as expected. Please report any lingering issues to the Help Desk.


Due to equipment problems, both internet and telephone service is unavailable in the Graduate School of Social Work. We are actively working to diagnose and resolve the issues. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Telephone Service Provider Change: Intermittent Disruptions to Off-Campus Calling

We have learned from our vendor that the necessary change to our service provider could include some disruptions to calls being made to and from off-campus phone numbers. Calls made between on-campus phone numbers will not be affected.

As such, we will begin our work at 7:30am on Thursday, 9/1 in the hope of limiting disruptions as much as possible. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

If you find that you are unable to make a call to an off-campus phone number, you could try connecting with the person via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. If you need help setting up a meeting, please get in touch with the Help Desk: help@brynmawr.edu or 610.526.7440.

 

Unscheduled Moodle Maintenance: TODAY, Friday August 26

LITS will be performing emergency maintenance on Moodle at  12:30 PM on Friday, August 26, 2022. The upgrade will address security vulnerabilities and should last 10 minutes. People who are already logged in should experience minimal disruption during the maintenance window.

RESOLVED: No WiFi on Athletics Field TODAY, 8/24

Update: WiFi service on the Athletics Field has been restored. Please report any lingering problems to the Help Desk.


LITS needs to perform necessary maintenance on the networking equipment in the Owls Nest. While this work is being done, there will be no wireless access on the athletics field. We will have the network back up as quickly as we are able. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

Intermittent BIONIC Slowness

Students, faculty, and staff using BIONIC today may experience slowness. This is a known issue and LITS staff are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

This lag is caused by a high volume of students registering for classes combined with the added load of an additional one-time form students must complete before they can begin the registration process. The effect on all BIONIC users is slow performance and error messages.

RESOLVED: Network Unavailable in Erdman and Rhoads Dorms (Saturday, 8/13)

Update, Sun. 8/14: The network is again available in both Erdman and Rhoads. Please report any oddities or lingering issues to the Help Desk.

Scheduled Moodle Maintenance: 8/11 from 7-9PM

LITS will be performing routine Moodle maintenance and upgrades on Thursday, Aug 11 between 7:00-9:00 pm.

This maintenance includes performance improvements, but no substantial changes in the look or functionality.

We do not expect any service downtime, although you may experience slow or unusual behavior during the upgrade.

Wireless Security Certificate Replacement – Tuesday, 8/9

The wireless (eduroam) security certificate will be replaced on Tuesday (8/9). There will be minimal disruption to your connection to the wireless network. Once the replacement is complete, you will be prompted by your computer to accept the new certificate the next time you attempt to connect to eduroam.
