LITS will be applying a minor update to Moodle on Friday, March 21 at 7 am, lasting 10 minutes. We do not expect service interruption, but users may feel like Moodle is slightly slower around that time.

The Moodle update is now complete and service has been restored. Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing issues with the Ally plugin’s document conversion features in the updated version of Moodle. We are working with the vendor to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Panopto site will be performing an upgrade to its servers Saturday, April 12th. The upgrade will begin at 10 PM Eastern time and continue for three hours until 1 AM on Sunday, April 13th. During this time, Bryn Mawr’s Panopto site will be unavailable to all users.

Update, Friday 2/14: Duo reports that this issue is resolved and all methods of communication are operational.
Today, Duo identified an issue where authentication via phone call or SMS/text messages is failing. Until the issue is resolved, community members will need to authenticate via Duo Mobile Push, passcodes from the Duo Mobile App, or security/hardware tokens.
Please remember that LITS will never ask you to initiate a Duo Push or to send us a passcode/SMS message. You should only approve Duo authentication requests that you initiated yourself. It never hurts to decline a Duo request if you’re unsure.

Apple recently released a critical security update for iPhones and iPads. This update addresses a zero-day exploit and it’s critical for community members who use Apple devices to run any updates as soon as possible.

As we all prepare for potential inclement weather coming this week, LITS wants to send a quick reminder to switch your VPN service provider from Ivanti to Palo Alto GlobalConnect before Ivanti is taken offline on Monday, 2/17.

Bryn Mawr College is moving to a new VPN service: Palo Alto GlobalProtect! You can find instructions on Ask Athena for uninstalling Ivanti and installing Palo Alto GlobalProtect. Please install the new VPN before our current VPN, Ivanti, is deprecated on Monday, February 17th.
If your work relies on the VPN, such as accessing network drives (H:, S:, etc.) from off-campus, LITS highly recommends installing Palo Alto GlobalProtect at your earliest convenience.
